NIKE AIR SHOP

We teamed up with Nike NYC to craft social first content highlighting the launch of the Nike Soho Air Shop leading to Air Max Day 2020. We encouraged all sneaker lovers, both OG’s and New-G’s, to come together and celebrate their love for Air Max at the interactive space.

 
 
 
 

BACKGROUND

Air Max is one of Nike Sportswear’s key footwear franchises and represents one of the most iconic footwear innovations of all time. Every year since 2014, Air Max Day has been a day for people to come together and celebrate their love for Air Max.

Nike is creating an interactive, immersive digital space in Nike Soho’s first floor, and highlighting the franchise on the second floor with an Air Shop month-long activation. The campaign will also be live online.

THE ASK

Develop a creative media approach for Air Max activations happening at Nike Soho (529 Broadway), and social assets to be used across the entire Nike ecosystem. Have the activations target entry-level sneaker consumers with a focus on women.

OUR OBJECTIVES

 

Increase awareness of the Air Shop at Nike Soho.

Drive people to the Air Shop interactive space at Nike Soho (create FOMO around the photo booth experience).

Communicate perks about being a club member (leveraging the gift with purchase kit).

Drive followers who can’t attend in person to the dot come landing page to browse Air Max and learn more.

We have an opportunity to leverage the iconic, recognizable Air Max franchise to introduce our audience to Air Shop and get them excited about the activation.

Staying true to Air Max’s “Fearless Progression” positioning, we’ll nod to the franchise’s rich history while emphasizing Air Max’s future-focused, revolutionary spirit through messaging and visuals.

THE VIBE:
Floaty, zen, atmospheric.
Future-forward with a nod to the past.

  • Light, bright and airy.

  • Digital reboot.

  • Sky visuals, gradient auras, and light leaks.

  • Playing with image blur.

  • Minimal type, Adobe Garamond.

  • Balanced layout.

  • Air Max Day cloud illustrations.

  • Visuals use space and depth that allow the composition to “breathe”.

MOTION + MUSIC

  • Blur transitions.

  • Scrolling and gliding scenes.

  • Electronic, synth driven music.

  • Empowering portraits of models (incorporating fans, and slofies to evoke feelings of Air).

  • Shot in which one model "acts" as a mannequin, and then moves playfully (wink, etc).

  • Playing with scale, models posing in front of large sneaker shots on gloss seamless images in-store.

  • Tracking shot of model walking horizontally in front of shoe wall.

  • Video of models playing in photo booth, freeze frames of shots (silly faces, etc).

  • Shot of models in-store with app in hand, checking out.

  • Shot of model scanning for Gift With Purchase moment.
